Racial slurs painted on cars in Silver Firs area near Everett
Posted by John de Leon
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is investigating vandalism in the Silver Firs area of unincorporated Everett as a possible hate crime.
Some residents woke up this morning to find several vehicles spray-painted with racial slurs in the 5600 and 5700 blocks of 136th Street Southeast. Deputies said someone painted on the windows of five cars, including some that had racial slurs. At least two of the vehicle owners are minorities, so the case is being investigated as a hate crime.
There are no suspects at this time, but deputies said it appears to be the work of juveniles who are familiar with the neighborhood.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office tip line at 425-388-3845.
