Burglars busted thanks to quick-thinking Edmonds girl
Posted by John de Leon
Two men and a woman were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Edmonds after they broke into a home while a 16-year-old girl was inside.
At about 2:40 p.m., Edmonds police responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress in the 9900 block of 238th Street Southwest. The caller, a 16-year-old girl, told the 911 operator that there were people in her house and that she was hiding in a back bedroom.
By the time police arrived the suspects had left. But officers obtained a description from the girl and found the three suspects short distance away from the victim's home. The girl was able to positively identify one of the suspects and identified a second suspect as someone that she had seen knocking on her door moments before the burglary.
The victim also identified a television taken from her home that officers found in the suspects' vehicle.
All three suspects, a 22-year-old Mount Vernon man, a 23-year-old Marysville man and a 25-year-old Everett woman, were booked into the Snohomish County Jail on investigation of burglary.
