KING-TV: Yelm woman claims she got sick from cookie dough, sues Nestle

Posted by John de Leon

An 18-year-old Yelm woman who claims she got sick after eating cookie dough tainted with E.coli is suing Nestle, our news partners at KING-TV are reporting.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle, claims Lindsay Phillips ate Nestle cookie dough several times early last month and began suffering abdominal pain and other symptoms. Doctors initially diagnosed her with dysentery, prescribed antibiotics and sent her home.

When the symptoms got worse, Phillips returned to the hospital, where tests revealed she was infected with E.coli, KING-TV reports. It was later determined that it was the same strain that was associated with a Nestle cookie dough recall.
