Former Bellevue teacher admits having sex with student

Posted by Jennifer Sullivan

Deene Juncker, who taught at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart until last fall, pleaded guilty in King County Superior Court today to two counts of second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor.

The 47-year-old man was arrested in November after authorities said he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student. Juncker and the girl started dating last summer and by early fall they had stayed together at a Bellevue hotel. The investigation also uncovered chat messages and e-mails discussing the rendezvous, according to court documents.

After resigning from his job in October, Juncker started working as a sales clerk in a comic-book shop. He faces between 15 and 20 months in prison when sentenced on June 26, said Dan Donohoe, spokesman for the King County Prosecutor's Office.
