Gold Bar couple plead not guilty in puppy mill case

Posted by John de Leon

A Gold Bar-area couple pleaded not guilty Friday to half a dozen felony animal cruelty charges in connection with an alleged puppy mill operation, the Everett Herald is reporting.

Jason and Serrena Larsen, both 37, were charged after Snohomish County sheriff's deputies and animal control officers raided a home outside Gold Bar Jan. 16 and seized about 160 dogs.

The Larsens claim they were breeding the dogs for Renee Roske, a Snohomish woman who allegedly earned millions of dollars a year, according to court papers.
