King County sheriff's detectives are searching for a domestic violence suspect who they said repeatedly assaulted his wife in Shoreline, and even forced his dog to bite the woman.

On May 6, deputies were called to the Canterbury Apartments, 2619 N.E. 195th Lane, where they found a woman suffering from several injuries, including bruising and swelling on her head, a swollen eye with cuts around it; a scratched neck and severe bruising on her arm, thigh and right side. The hysterical woman told officers she was assaulted repeatedly by J.C. Johnson, her husband of two years, with a large rock. She said he also tried to strangle her, threatened her with an ice pick and large kitchen knife, and even forced his 120-pound Rottweiler to bite her.

Detectives have probable cause to arrest Johnson on several charges, including felonious assault. Johnson is a convicted felon, on active probation with the state Department of Corrections, who the state Department of Corrections has him listed as a "violent offender".

His former DOC probation officer called Johnson the "worst repeat DV (domestic violence) offender I have ever supervised," according to the Sheriff's Office.

Johnson is described as black, 6-feet-2 and 240 pounds, with little or no hair. He reportedly likes to hang out at bars in the Lake City area.
