Three critically injured when car strikes tree in Renton
Posted by John de Leon
Three people were hospitalized in critical condition early this morning after the car they were riding in slammed into a tree in Renton, police said.
At 12:22 a.m., a police officer was flagged down by a motorist who said a single-vehicle crash had occurred at Southwest Seventh Street at Naches Avenue Southwest. When officers arrived at the scene they found a car had left the road and struck a tree.
The 18-year-old driver and his two passengers were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition.
Police say it appears the car had been traveling westbound on Southwest Seventh Street at a high rate of speed when it left the north side of the roadway, crossed over the sidewalk and struck the tree.
