Arts Crush kicks off with ticket giveaway

The annual monthlong Arts Crush celebration kicks off Sunday at McCaw Hall in Seattle. Registration continues for free tickets to various arts events.

Arts Crush, the annual monthlong arts celebration run by Theatre Puget Sound, is giving away more than 3,000 free tickets for local cultural events. To sign up for a chance to receive gratis tickets, register online by Sept. 29 at www.artscrush.org.

Arts Crush promotes current productions at theaters, galleries and other arts facilities around the area, and offers many special (plus ones that are discounted or pay-what-you-will) events tailored for the festival, which officially kicks off on Sunday with a free fair at McCaw Hall. The fair, slated for 11 a.m.-2 p.m., features performances by the local musical groups Titanium Sporkestra and Caspar Babypants, breakdancing group Massive Monkees and the UMO theater ensemble.
