In 'Brownie Points,' campout challenges moms and daughters
"Brownie Points," by Janece Shaffer, has its West Coast premiere at Seattle's Taproot Theatre May 20-June 19, 2011.
What better time to hash out matters of race, difference and diversity than during a campout? Five mothers from different backgrounds, chaperoning their first-grade girls in the Georgia woods, have an unexpectedly revealing encounter in "Brownie Points" by Janece Shaffer. (Shown here are cast members Casi Wilkerson, left, Amy Love and Faith Russell.) The comic and provocative work has its West Coast premiere Friday-June 19 at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St., Seattle; $10-$35 (206-781-9707 or www.taproottheatre.org).
