KING FM names membership director

KING FM (98.1) has named Mercedes Sanchez the station's membership director.

Classical-music radio station KING FM (98.1) has named Mercedes Sanchez as the station's inaugural membership director. The appointment is part of the station's transition from a commercial radio station to public-supported model.

Sanchez will be responsible for launching the Seattle station's development department, as well as planning and implementing KING FM's annual fundraising campaign, according to a station news release.

The transition was announced in March and is expected to be complete by July 2011.
