Shorecrest vs. Shorewood

Earlier this year, Shorecrest High School students posted a little class project to YouTube: A video showing a wild mix of kids dancing and clowning through the hallways of the school, lip-syncing to the infectious OutKast song "Hey Ya!" The thing went viral — and then provoked a kind of video antibody from rival school Shorewood High. Students there soon posted their own so-called lip dub — this one to Hall & Oates' "You Make My Dreams," all filmed backward. (You kind of have to see it to get it, but imagine paper airplanes backing up into kids' hands and 52-pickup in reverse.) Catch both videos and vote for your favorite on a poll posted by KING 5 TV.

'New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin'

La Griffin is back for a third year to co-host the festivities with CNN's silver fox. It's a hoot to watch Cooper try to remain a serious newsman while Griffin tries to crack him up. She says she promised to forfeit her paycheck if she lets loose with another gaffe like last year (sorry: it's unprintable in a family newspaper). Oh, the suspense. Live from New York City's Times Square. 8 p.m. Thursday on CNN.
