Day of the Dead party at Seattle Asian Art Museum; SAM Remix
Seattle Asian Art Museum will celebrate the Day of the Dead on Sunday with a performance by the Seattle Pianist Collective.
The event starts at 2 p.m. Sunday at the museum, 1400 Prospect St. (in Volunteer Park); $15 general, $10 students and seniors.
Pianist Collective members Dawn Clement, Oksana Ezhokina, Julie Ives, Peter V. Stevens and Kelly Wyse, plus guest performers the Michael Owcharuk Trio, Rafael Anton Irisarri and Don Larson, plan a program of Slavic composers — Shostakovich, Part, Schulhoff and others.

SAM Remix goes downtown
Poetry, DJs, "highly opinionated" art tours and (temporary) Michelangelo tattoos will mix things up amid the masterpieces at Seattle Art Museum's Remix party, 8 p.m.-midnight Nov. 6 at the museum, 1300 First Ave.
The event also heralds the opening of "SAM Next: Heide Heinrichs," a collection of mixed-media sculptures and drawings by the Seattle-based Heinrichs.
Among the activities are performances by stilt dancer Janet Rayor, DXARTS Sound Lab and cellist Paul Rucker. Partygoers can listen to poetry and take a "My Favorite Things" art tour with Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
Tickets: $5-$10; Remix is open to those 18 and older. The first 100 guests to arrive will be admitted free (206-654-3121 or www.seattleartmuseum.org).
