'Catch Me' performance to raise funds in honor of slain South Park woman

The 5th Avenue will donate $5 of each ticket sold to its new musical "Catch Me If You Can" for the Aug. 5 show to Compass Center, in honor of the slain Teresa Butz.

The 5th Avenue Theatre's performance of "Catch Me If You Can" on Wednesday, Aug. 5, will be a benefit in honor of slain South Park resident Teresa Butz.

For each ticket sold for that night's performance of the world premiere musical, $5 will go to the Compass Center, a nonprofit agency that provides emergency and transitional services to homeless and low-income people in the Greater Seattle area.

Butz, who was fatally stabbed in her home on July 19, served on the center's board of directors. Her older brother, actor Norbert Leo Butz, plays FBI agent Carl Hanratty in "Catch Me If You Can," based on true story about Hanratty's pursuit of young con artist Frank Abagnale, Jr.

Tickets for the benefit show can be purchased at the theater box office, 1308 Fifth Ave., Seattle, or by calling 206-625-1900 or 888-5TH-4TIX.

The Aug. 5 staging of "Catch Me If You Can," a production ultimately aimed at Broadway, is the final preview. It opens Aug. 6.
