Will the show go on? A list of arts and event snow closures

"Nutcracker," "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and "Black Nativity" will go on Friday; some special ticket deals available.

The Seattle Times is receiving reports from cultural institutions around the sound about what's open Friday, what's closed — and even some special "snow day" deals.

Return to this story throughout the day Friday for updates. And if you're going out, be sure to call ahead to confirm.

With more winter weather on the way Saturday afternoon and evening, many of the shows that are on for Friday may end up canceled Saturday and/or Sunday. Over the weekend, go directly to the presenter for the latest updates.

Open

Special "snow" deals

• Pacific Northwest Ballet's "Nutcracker" — 2 and 7:30 p.m. today, McCaw Hall, Seattle Center; $22-$110 (206-441-2424 or www.pnb.org). Note: PNB is offering a 30 percent "snow day" discount for matinee performances Friday.

• 5th Avenue Theatre's "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" — Visit the box office Friday and use the code word "snow" to receive a special $20 day-of-show ticket.

• "Black Nativity" at Intiman Theatre, Seattle Center — In a "Winter Special" for weekend shows, all available tickets will be sold at half-price 15 minutes before curtain for shows at 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Plus, free hot chocolate for all patrons at all performances.

• Neumo's — The Dec. 18-20 Blues Scholars concerts have all been canceled and rescheduled for March 14-16, 2009.

• Seattle First Baptist Church: Carols — Collage, Fantasia and Parody set for Saturday and Sunday, has been canceled and rescheduled for Jan. 4.

• Winterfest Solstice Fire Festival, Saturday, Seattle Center, is being postponed to Jan. 10-11.

• "Charanga Danzon," Friday at Rainier Chapter House.
