Frye Art Museum curator Robin Held has been selected for one of 10 fellowships at New York's Center for Curatorial Leadership in 2009. This will be the second year for the program, founded by Agnes Gund, former president of The Museum of Modern Art, and Elizabeth Easton, former chairwoman of the European art department at the Brooklyn Museum.
Beginning in January, the fellows will attend courses in museum management at Columbia University, including finance, board development, cultural properties law and fundraising. Teachers will include faculty members at Columbia's graduate school of business as well as museum directors, administrators and trustees from around the country. At the end of the six-month program, each fellow will take part in a weeklong residency at a major museum.
