The musical is co-written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, composed by Brooks, directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman and designed by Robin Wagner (sets) and William Ivey Long (costumes). Collectively, the creative team behind "Young Frankenstein" has won 27 Tonys (and 54 nominations) — a good many of them for "The Producers," another screen-to-stage Brooks musical.

Main cast members

Roger Bart (Dr. Frederick Frankenstein): Tony Award (Snoopy in "He's A Good Man, Charlie Brown"), Tony nomination (Carmen Ghia in "The Producers"). Notable screen work: "The Stepford Wives" and "Desperate Housewives." In Seattle: tours of "The Who's Tommy," "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" and "The Secret Garden."

Megan Mullally (Elizabeth): Two Emmy Awards during an eight-year run in TV's "Will & Grace." Hosted a syndicated talk show. Broadway: "How to Succeed in Business" and "Grease" revivals.

Andrea Martin (Frau Blücher): Two Emmys for co-writing TV's "SCTV" (she was also a co-star). Tony for featured role in "My Favorite Year." Other Broadway: "Oklahoma!" and "Fiddler on the Roof" revivals. Aunt Voula in the film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

Sutton Foster (Inga): Tony winner (for "Thoroughly Modern Millie") with two more Tony nominations (for "Little Women," "The Drowsy Chaperone").

Shuler Hensley (The Monster): Tony Award (Judd in "Oklahoma!" with Hugh Jackman). Other Broadway: co-star of Disney's "Tarzan" musical.
