'The River'

"Watch out, it's coming back!" Six months after a prominent explorer and documentarian goes missing in the Amazon jungle, his emergency beacon activates. This prompts his family and co-workers to head south and start a search. That's the setup for this new thriller from the writer/director of the original "Paranormal Activity." If you've seen any of the previews, you know it's going to be very creepy, indeed. Two-hour series premiere, 9 p.m. Tuesday on ABC (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
