'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'
6 p.m. weekdays on KONG-TV.Regulars at downtown Seattle's Owl n' Thistle pub may have recognized a familiar face on Wednesday night's episode of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire." Bouncer Ian Smith appeared on the game show, earning a return trip Thursday.
Smith put $33,000 in his "millionaire bank" by correctly answering multiple-choice questions about the number of times a human heart beats in an average lifetime (2.5 billion); an example of a sea chantey ("Blow the Man Down"); and a product not labeled under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program (cars). He used one lifeline ("Ask the Audience") and has two remaining.
Thursday night he will face a fourth question: "Now residing in London's British Museum, the Elgin Marbles are a famous collection of sculptures originally crafted in what city?" The answer is either Rome, Cairo, Athens or Istanbul.
If he guesses correctly, he continues on the show, which can ultimately lead to an opportunity to win $1 million. If he answers incorrectly, he leaves with $1,000. If he chooses not to answer the question, he walks away with half the amount currently in his millionaire bank.
Smith was born in Gig Harbor, and has worked at the Owl n' Thistle for "forever and a day," according to a spokesperson for the pub. His interests, as listed on MySpace, are cars, bars and popular culture (movies and TV).
