"Crash" spinoff to premiere on Starz
"Crash," a TV series based on the Oscar-winning film, will premiere Oct. 17 on Starz. Bobby Moresco and Paul Haggis, who co-wrote the screenplay for the 2004 film, will serve as executive producers.
Starz has set an October premiere date for the small-screen version of the Oscar-winning drama "Crash."
"Crash," the first original drama entertainment series from Starz Entertainment, will premiere Oct. 17.
Starz summarized the ensemble cast by saying the drama "features a disparate group of Los Angelenos, including maverick record producer Ben Cendars (Dennis Hopper); impulsive cop Kenny Battaglia (Ross McCall); his actress-turned-police officer partner Bebe Arcel (Arlene Tur); frustrated Brentwood mom Christine Emory (Clare Carey); her pre-bust real-estate developer husband Peter Emory (D.B. Sweeney); former gang member-turned-EMT Eddie Choi (Brian Tee); Ben's street-smart driver Anthony Adams (Jocko Sims); illegal Guatemalan immigrant Cesar Uman (Luis Chávez); and cocky, hot-tempered detective Axel Finet (Nick E. Tarabay)."
The characters collide with each other in a variety of ways.
Starz has ordered 13 episodes of "Crash." The feature film's Oscar-winning scribes Bobby Moresco and Paul Haggis will serve as executive producers.
