Head of news promoted to manager of KING family of stations

Pat Costello, currently the vice president of news at KING 5 TV, has been promoted to station manager for KING 5, KING5.com, KONG 6/16, Northwest Cable...

Pat Costello, currently the vice president of news at KING 5 TV, has been promoted to station manager for KING 5, KING5.com, KONG 6/16, Northwest Cable News and NWCN.com. Parent company Belo Corp. made the announcement on Thursday.

Costello joined KING in September 2000 from Chicago's WBBM-TV. Under his leadership this past year, KING 5 received a national Walter Cronkite Award for excellence in TV political journalism, a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for overall excellence, and a regional Emmy for overall station excellence.

In his new position, Costello's responsibilities will include overall management of news, marketing, programming, creative services and technical operations.
