A night of Nirvana on "Cold Case"
Seattle Times staff reporter
Eight songs by Nirvana will be featured in the fifth-season premiere of "Cold Case" when the CBS show airs Sept. 23.
The episode, about two nihilistic male teens who've been falsely accused and convicted of murder, will showcase the songs "All Apologies," "Stay Away," "If You Must," "Lithium," "Drain You," "Heart Shaped Box," "Something in the Way" and "Come as You Are."
"Nirvana's music not only evokes the era when this case's killings took place but brings a starkness and poetry to the story that deeply enhances it," the show's executive producer Veena Sud said in a press release announcing the episode.
Previous episodes of the show have included music by Johnny Cash, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Tim McGraw, U2 and Bob Dylan.
