Saturday, January 28, 2006 - Page updated at 12:00 AM Meet home-makeover stars at Tacoma show
We can't promise you a new house or a national TV appearance, but we can tell you how to meet two stars of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Designers Michael Moloney and Paul DiMeo will appear at the 2006 Tacoma Home & Garden Show next week. Both have been around these parts before, redoing houses for local families — DiMeo worked on a recent makeover in Port Townsend, and Moloney worked on an episode in Kingston. They were a little busy then, but now their time is all yours — almost. DiMeo will appear at the Tacoma show from 5-7 p.m. Friday, and Moloney will be there from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 5. Each will give a 20- to 25-minute presentation, then take questions and meet fans. The show, with more than 700 exhibitor booths, starts in the Tacoma Dome on Wednesday and runs through Feb. 5. Show hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Feb. 4; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 5. (It originally was scheduled to last until 5 p.m. the last day, but, hey — now it's Seahawks Super Bowl Sunday.) Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors (weekdays only) and $5 for kids 6-16. Children under 6 are free. For more information, call 253-756-2121 or go online to www.tacomahomeandgardenshow.com (where you'll also find $2 discount coupons for weekdays).
