Jennifer Garner will preside over the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Scientific and Technical Awards on Feb. 14 in Pasadena. Two Oscar statuettes will be among the 11 awards presented at the gala dinner.

Portions of the Oscar presentations will be taped for inclusion in this year's Oscar broadcast.

Garner, star of ABC's series "Alias" and films such as "Catch Me If You Can," "Daredevil" and the upcoming romantic comedy "13 Going on 30," will appear live on the Oscar telecast to introduce the Sci-Tech segment. This will mark her second appearance as a presenter at the Academy Awards.

The Oscars will be presented Feb. 29 and televised live at 5 p.m. on ABC (KOMO).

McEntire to host ACM awards

Reba McEntire has been host of the Academy of Country Music's award show six times and will take the stage again this May.

"The 39th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards" will air on CBS on May 26, and this will mark McEntire's third consecutive year hosting the event.

McEntire has sold 48 million records over her career in country music. She has also been a star on Broadway (in "Annie Get Your Gun"), on the small screen (in The WB's "Reba") and on the big screen (in the immortal "Tremors").
