Bloomberg: iPhone coming to Verizon in January

Posted by Brier Dudley

Adding some weight to the rumor that the iPhone is coming to Verizon Wireless, ending Apple's exclusive deal with AT&T in the U.S., is a new report from Bloomberg.

Citing "two people familiar with the plans," Bloomberg is reporting that Verizon will carry the iPhone starting in January.

AT&T service has frustrated some iPhone users -- even Steve Jobs has said it's not up to snuff in some areas -- and Apple ending its exclusive AT&T deal will "dramatically increase the number of devices it sells in the U.S.," according to a UBS AG analyst quoted in Bloomberg's story.

I wonder if January is enough time for Apple to prepare the iPhone 5.
