Microsoft gets Nasdaq opening bell, in Redmond

Posted by Brier Dudley

To mark the launch of Windows 7, Nasdaq will set up a remote bell on the Microsoft campus to ceremonially open the market Thursday morning.

MSFT has been listed on the Nasdaq market since it went public in 1986.

Chief Financial Officer Chris Liddell will do the ceremonial ring on the campus at 6:30 a.m.

The stunt will be broadcast live on the seven-story Nasdaq outdoor display screen in Manhattan, where Liddell's boss will be launching the new operating system.

I wonder if the bell will go "bing."
