Digeo sold to Georgia cable equipment company

Posted by Mark Watanabe

Posting for Brier:

Charter isn't the only TV investment that Paul Allen is unwinding. The Microsoft co-founder today sold Digeo, a Kirkland-based manufacturer of high-end set-top boxes sold uner the Moxi brand, for $20 million to cable equipment maker Arris.

Suwanee, Ga.-based Arris plas to continue developing and selling Moxi systems, using the brand to expand its retail channel.

Arris also plans to retain most Digeo employees in Kirkland. Fewer than 10 of the 75 will be laid-off, a spokesman said.

The companies will share more details during a Wednesday press call.
