Microsoft releases free Movie Maker update, with YouTube

The deal of the day from Redmond is a new version of Microsoft's free Movie Maker video-editing software for creating slideshows.
Microsoft announced today that the software is out of beta testing and available for anyone to download.
New features include the ability to handle HD video and prepare and post videos directly to (gasp!) Google's YouTube. A plug in is available for posting videos on Facebook, and plug-ins for additional sites are coming, according to the team's blog.
I wonder if Bill Gates will be able to download this one.
One catch: The software doesn't work on Windows XP or older operating systems. It works on Vista and especially Windows 7, which supports the QuickTime, AVCHD and MPEG4 file formats.
Another catch: To download, you've got to enter Microsoft's world of "Live" services, where you can also download free family Web safety software and tools for handling photos, messaging and blogging.
