Posted by Judy Averill
There are plenty of dog, cat, bunny and other animal events to howl about this month including adoption specials, Mission Paws-ible, Halloween Howl, Dog-O-Ween and the Black Cat Ball.

Pluto has been waiting for a belly-scratching, low-energy owner for months. He was rescued from a hoarder and has limited mobility in his rear legs. He's one of the pets in the Seattle Animal Shelter's Mission Paws-ible adoption event. Photo courtesy of Seattle Animal Shelter.
Here's a roundup of October events. Before leaving home, check the event website (click on the event name) to make sure your pet is welcome and for schedule changes.
If you have an upcoming event, please tell us about it in an email to tailsofseattle@seattletimes.com.

The adoption package, which usually costs about $130-$200, includes initial vaccinations, deworming, spay or neuter and microchip ID. Look for the "Mission Paws-ible" note on the kennel or petfinder.com post. The shelter is open noon-6 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.

Bella enjoys some petting but she can be selective about who touches her. Because of her independent nature, Bella hasn't found her perfect home yet. She's one of many pets available at Seattle Animal Shelter. Raindog Photography image courtesy of Seattle Animal Shelter.
