Lauren Jackson, Katie Gearlds hope to return to Storm
Both players continue rehab work while Storm is on the road

While the Storm's away, two key players have been rehabbing with hopes of helping Seattle at least in the postseason.
Lauren Jackson and reserve guard/forward Katie Gearlds have been rehabilitating injuries during the three-game trip. Gearlds suffered a knee injury in the opening quarter against Phoenix on Aug. 4, and has missed the past 10 games. But coach Brian Agler said Gearlds was able to do drills on the court this week.
Jackson, who has a stress fracture in her lower back, has not been on the court. She suffered the injury Aug. 15, and has missed the past two games.
"They're both progressing," said Agler, who remains uncertain whether either will return to the lineup for the team's home finale against Phoenix on Sept. 10, or the postseason.
The Storm (19-11) continues to win without both offensive-minded players. Tuesday's victory against New York was Seattle's sixth consecutive and moves them one win (or a Los Angeles loss) from locking up home-court advantage in the opening round of the playoffs.
But Seattle still wants to win the Western Conference title, which would mean overtaking Phoenix.
"We know, but we're just trying to win games," said forward Camille Little, who has averaged 11.6 points and 10.0 rebounds in the team's past five games. "Everything is falling into place for me and we all have the mindset that we are going to need everybody down the stretch."
Tonight the Storm faces Washington (14-15), which Seattle defeated 78-68 at KeyArena last week. The Mystics, who are in the hunt for an Eastern Conference playoff berth, have been dealing with All-Star Alana Beard's ankle injuries, but Agler expects her to play. Washington gave Seattle a scare late, getting good bench play from rookie Marissa Coleman.
Seattle is focusing on cutting down turnovers. The team had zero in the fourth quarter of the Liberty win, but has averaged 18.8 turnovers in its past five games.
"It's something we can control," Little said. "We refocused later and we cut it down."
Note
• Due to the airing of Nebraska football, the Storm's matchup at Minnesota on Saturday will move to KIXI 880AM from KKNW 1150 AM. Tipoff is at 5 p.m.
