MINNEAPOLIS — Rookie Renee Montgomery scored 16 of her season-high 21 points in the final two minutes of regulation and overtime as the Minnesota Lynx beat the Washington Mystics 96-94 Tuesday.
Montgomery, a college standout at Connecticut who was the fourth player drafted in April, had six points in OT for the Lynx (8-4).
With 1.1 seconds remaining in OT and Minnesota leading 95-92, Lindsey Harding of the Mystics (5-5) was fouled on a three-point attempt. She made the first two free throws, but her third attempt missed. Harding scored 27 points.

At Monarchs 83, Sky 73
Kara Lawson had 13 points and six assists to help Sacramento (3-8) beat Chicago (6-5). The Monarchs shot a season-high 55 percent.
Jia Perkins collected 21 points and six assists and Candice Dupree scored 18 points on 9-for-12 shooting for Chicago.
At Dream 72, Sun 67
Chamique Holdsclaw scored 19 points and Erika De Souza contributed a double-double to help Atlanta (6-7) beat Connecticut (5-5).
De Souza finished with 12 points and 17 rebounds for the Dream. Ex-Storm player Iziane Castro Marques added 14 points.
Asjha Jones and Tan White each scored 14 points for Connecticut.
