SAN ANTONIO — Sophia Young scored 24 points to lead the San Antonio Silver Stars to a 78-74 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Thursday night, clinching home-court advantage through the playoffs.
Ann Wauters and Becky Hammon added 17 points each for the Silver Stars (23-10). Wauters also had 15 rebounds as San Antonio finished 14-0 against the Eastern Conference.
Asjha Jones had 18 points to lead the Sun (20-13)

Iziane Castro Marques scored 15 of her 23 points in the fourth quarter as Atlanta snapped a 10-game losing streak. Betty Lennox added 21 points for the expansion Dream (4-29), which avoided breaking the WNBA record for losses in a season. Candace Parker had 23 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four blocks for Los Angeles (19-14).
At Shock 78, Mystics 66
Deanna Nolan scored 17 points and Kara Braxton added 15 to help Detroit clinch the Eastern Conference title. The Shock (21-12) will face Indiana in the first round of the playoffs next week. Washington (10-22) has lost seven straight.
At Fever 74, Liberty 59
Tammy Sutton-Brown scored 16 points to lead Indiana (16-17), which jumped out to a 20-3 lead and beat New York (18-14) at home for the 11th straight time in the regular season.
