WNBA | First-place Stars lose 78-68 to Lynx
Seimone Augustus scored 20 points, Lindsey Harding added a season-high 13 and the Minnesota Lynx beat the San Antonio Silver Stars 78-68 Friday night.
MINNEAPOLIS — Seimone Augustus scored 20 points, Lindsey Harding added a season-high 13 and the Minnesota Lynx beat the San Antonio Silver Stars 78-68 Friday night.
Playing without injured standout rookie Candice Wiggins, the Lynx (13-12) got solid production from Augustus, who will join the U.S. Olympic team when the WNBA takes its one-month hiatus for the Beijing Games.
Anna DeForge had 12 points for the Lynx, who sent the Western Conference-leading Silver Stars (17-9) to their second consecutive defeat.
Sophia Young paced San Antonio with 21 points and Becky Hammon added 18. The Silver Stars lead the Storm by a half-game.
"At this point, everybody is fighting for position and kind of jockeying," Hammon said. "The games are important for everybody."

Janel McCarville's layup with 6.4 seconds left lifted New York (14-10) to victory over Los Angeles (14-12). McCarville led the Liberty with 15 points.
Mystics 81, at Dream 75
Taj McWilliams-Franklin contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds as Washington (10-15) defeated expansion Atlanta (3-23).
Former Storm player Iziane Castro Marques scored 23 points for the Dream.
