SAVANNAH, Ga. —

Jovonni Shuler scored 27 points and Savannah State routed Morris College 102-47 Thursday night.

Shuler also had seven assists, or two more than Morris, an NAIA team from Sumter, S.C., that kept fresh bodies on the floor by using 15 players. But the Hornets didn't come close to wearing the Tigers down as Savannah State romped to a 52-22 lead at halftime. The final margin represented the Tigers' biggest lead.

The Tigers (7-17) shot 63.2 percent from the field, making 36 of 57 shots, and outrebounded the Hornets 46-22. Jyles Smith led Savannah State's efforts on the boards with 12 rebounds.

Joshua Montgomery added 16 points and Stephen Wilson had 13 as the Tigers recorded their most lopsided win since beating Carver Bible College 103-44 on Feb. 26, 2009.

Jonathan Parham led Morris College with 11 points in only 18 minutes.
