Pac-10 reprimands USC coach Michael Cooper

The Pac-10 has reprimanded Southern California women's basketball coach Michael Cooper for a profane postgame comment about archrival UCLA.

LOS ANGELES —

The Pac-10 has reprimanded Southern California women's basketball coach Michael Cooper for a profane postgame comment about archrival UCLA.

Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott issued the reprimand Thursday.

Cooper made his two-word jab at the Bruins immediately following the Trojans' 70-63 victory over UCLA last Sunday. Cooper later apologized and acknowledged his comment was inappropriate.

Cooper was a longtime Los Angeles Lakers star who also coached the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks. He is in his first season at USC (10-6, 4-1 Pac-10).
