Eye Of The Leopard took the lead in the deep stretch and went on to win the 150th running of the Queen's Plate thoroughbred race on Sunday.
Eye Of The Leopard took the lead in the deep stretch and went on to win the 150th running of the Queen's Plate thoroughbred race on Sunday.
Eye Of The Leopard, the 2-1 favorite, sat off the pace for much of the race but was second making the turn behind Mr. Foricos Two U.
The horse then took the lead coming home and earned Sam-Son Farms its fifth Queen's Plate win and fourth for trainer Mark Frostad.
Jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva earned his first Queen's Plate win in his first mount in the race. San-Son Farms earned the $600,000 winner's share in the $1 million race, the first jewel in Canadian thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown.
Mr. Foricos Two U held on for second, with filly Milwaukee Appeal taking third in the 13-horse field.
