Sam Hornish Jr. is feeling ill and will have Travis Kvapil standing by to relieve him at Talladega Superspeedway
Hornish woke up Sunday with flulike symptoms. He qualified fourth for the race and planned to start the 500-mile race in the No. 77 Dodge. Kvapil will be available if Hornish needs to exit the car.
Kvapil has been out of work since Yates Racing closed its No. 28 team last month when it couldn't find sponsorship.
