Chimera out 4-5 weeks
Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Jason Chimera will undergo surgery Wednesday for a groin injury and is expected to be sidelined for four to five weeks.
Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Jason Chimera will undergo surgery Wednesday for a groin injury and is expected to be sidelined for four to five weeks.
General manager Scott Howson announced the move midway through the club's game Tuesday night against Los Angeles.
Chimera was placed on injured reserve Monday. He has appeared in 44 games this season, with eight goals and 13 assists. He has missed 18 games due to injuries this season after missing just one game in the previous three seasons.
