Eastern Kentucky defeats Eastern Illinois 73-55

The Colonels (16-10, 9-6 Ohio Valley Conference) shot 55.6 percent from the field (25 of 45), improving to 10-0 when they shoot 50 percent or more. Eastern Kentucky also hit a season-high 55.2 percent (16 of 29) of its 3-point attempts.
Eastern Kentucky went on a 19-0 run in the second half, increasing its lead from 39-35 with 17:33 remaining in the game to 58-35 with 10:18 left.
Rose hit two 3-pointers and scored 10 points in the run to help send Eastern Illinois (11-14, 8-7) to its third straight loss.
The Colonels shot 13 of 19 from the field (68.4 percent) in the second half.
Justin Stommes scored 12 for Eastern Kentucky.
Romain Martin scored 17 and Tyler Laser added 11 for Eastern Illinois.
