SPARTANBURG, S.C. —

Alex Renfroe scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Belmont to a 73-69 win over South Carolina-Upstate on Saturday.

A Gabor Boros 3-pointer gave USC-Upstate, which led by five points at the break, a 59-54 lead with 6 minutes to play. But Belmont went on a 9-0 run during the next 2 minutes to take the lead, and Renfroe hit four free throws down the stretch to seal the win for the Bruins (10-6, 6-1 Atlantic Sun Conference).

Renfroe finished 12-for-13 from the line, dished out six assists and tallied four steals. John House also added 20 points for the Bruins and Matthew Dotson had 10.

Nick Schneiders led four Spartans (2-14, 1-6) in double figures with 16 points. De'Marion Gordon chipped in with 13, while Josh Chavis and Bobby Davis scored 11 apiece.
