David Schneider scored 17 points and Quinn McDowell added 12 off the bench as William & Mary defeated North Carolina-Wilmington 73-59 Wednesday night.
McDowell keyed a 12-2 run midway through the second half to give the Tribe (6-8, 1-3 Colonial Athletic Association) its first conference win while the Seahawks (3-13, 0-4) extended their school-record losing streak to 10 games.
UNC Wilmington entered the game as the top offensive scoring team in the CAA averaging 75.6 points a game, but the Tribe held the Seahawks to 38.2 percent shooting (21 of 55). William & Mary made 57.4 percent of its shots (21 of 47) and hit 16 of 22 in the second half (72.7 percent).
Chad Tomko led UNC Wilmington with 17 points, Kevon Moore had 14 and Montez Downey added 11. Johnny Wolf, the Seahawks' second-leading scorer, missed the game with a sprained ankle.
