LSU beats SE Louisiana 90-61

Marcus Thornton scored a season-high 33 points as LSU defeated Southeastern Louisiana 90-61 on Saturday night.

BATON ROUGE, LA. —

Marcus Thornton scored a season-high 33 points as LSU defeated Southeastern Louisiana 90-61 on Saturday night.

Thornton shot 11 of 17 from the field, including 4 of 7 on 3-pointers. Tasmin Mitchell added 24 points and Bo Spencer contributed 17 for the Tigers (12-1).

Patrick Sullivan scored 17 points for Southeastern Louisiana (6-7) with 17 points. Warrell Span had 12 points and Brandon Fortenberry scored 10. Kevyn Green, the Lions' top scorer was held to six points, 14 below his season average.

The victory was the 74th consecutive home win for LSU against in-state opponents, and the Tigers have also won their last 15 home games.

After the Lions got within 44-38 midway through the second, the Tigers answered with 10-0 run helped by five points from Mitchell. Southeastern Louisiana trailed by at least 12 points the rest of the way.
