ALLEN PARK, Mich. —

The Detroit Lions signed fullback Moran Norris and cut running back Marcus Thomas on Thursday.

The Lions also added defensive back Chris Roberson to the practice squad after losing wide receiver Kenneth Moore, who was signed by the Carolina Panthers.

Norris, a two-year starter, was waived by the San Francisco 49ers during training camp. He has started 30 games and contributed on special teams since being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2001 draft.

Detroit (0-4) will be shooting for its first win Sunday on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (2-3).
