N. Carolina A&T knocks off Johnson C. Smith 44-12
Michael Ferguson rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns to lead North Carolina A&T to a 44-12 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Saturday.
Michael Ferguson rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns to lead North Carolina A&T to a 44-12 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Saturday.
Ferguson, a senior, has 2,006 career yards. That makes him the eighth back in school history to break the 2,000-yard barrier. He also scored the Aggies' first two touchdowns of the game.
Dione McNair added 92 yards and a 4-yard touchdown on 18 carries as North Carolina A&T (1-0) finished with 291 yards rushing. Quarterback Herbert Miller threw for 157 yards, including touchdown passes of 23 and 3 yards.
Quarterback Carlton Richardson led Johnson C. Smith with 157 yards passing, including a 13-yard touchdown to Markus Gray.
Ferguson scored on a 2-yard run with 11:57 left in the first quarter and added a 16-yard touchdown run with 4:41 remaining in the first quarter.
