Miao Lijie scored 14 points to help China beat Latvia 63-51 and win the bronze medal Tuesday in the FIBA Diamond Ball tournament, a tuneup for the Olympics.

The women's basketball game had more the feel of an exhibition than a contest for third place with both coaches subbing liberally to better prepare for the upcoming games, which begin Friday.
Anete Jekabsone, who had averaged 29 points in Latvia's first two games, played only half the game and finished with nine points. Ieva Kublina led Latvia with 10.
Bian Lan and Chen Xiaoli each scored 13 points for China, which will open against Spain in the Olympics.
Latvia will face Russia in its first Olympic contest. The Latvians beat Russia in the opening game of the Diamond Ball tournament 75-69.
Russia beat Mali 79-52 in the fifth-place game.
