Offensive star of the day: Rookie RB Justin Forsett, a seventh-round pick from Cal, showed good quickness and cutting ability, darting his way to 51 yards on nine carries, including a nifty 33-yard run. A 9-yard gain later was just as impressive, as Forsett looked to be gobbled up by DE Chris Cooper and S Kelin Johnson for a loss, only to cut back to the right and scamper away for a positive pickup.

Defensive star of the day: Why not four stars? S Jamar Adams had six tackles and a pass breakup; CB Kevin Hobbs broke up two passes and had three tackles; DE Jason Babin would have had two sacks if the quarterbacks were allowed to be hit; and Cooper was a disruptive force on several plays, notching half a sack.

Injury update: CB DeMichael Dizer suffered a knee injury and was to have tests on it. An update is expected today. Coach Mike Holmgren said he hopes to get a few players who have been injured back to practice Monday, including No. 1 center Chris Spencer. Most of the regulars were given the team drills off on Saturday, not for any injury reason, as Holmgren sought to look at players in competition for roster spots.

Diggin' the scene: Qwest Field was abuzz with activity before, during and after the scrimmage. Fans sat riveted by the 2007 highlight video played on the big screens. Music played over the speakers while the players went through drills. Holmgren took a moment to address the crowd of 11,000 or so, exhorting them to cheer as if it was the playoff game against Washington from last season all over again. And roar they did. At one point, a field goal landed in the stands, where a young fan snatched the ball. When the fan was forced to give the ball back to the team, the crowd booed. Seeing this, Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke, standing on the field, grabbed a ball from the sideline and ran to the south end zone, where he located the fan and gave him the ball, prompting cheers. After the scrimmage, kids chanted players' names as the players signed autographs.
