Seahawks sign two draft picks

Training camp is still more than three weeks away, but the Seahawks are off to a good start this month in getting contracts for their 2007 draft choices.

Seattle has agreed to terms with offensive lineman Mansfield Wrotto, the second of the team's two fourth-round picks in April, and wide receiver Jordan Kent, the second of two sixth-round picks.

Wrotto and Kent join linebacker Will Herring, a fifth-round selection, in coming to terms on a deal. Herring and Wrotto have four-year contracts; Kent's agent was not available to confirm the length of the former Oregon player's deal, but it is also believed to be four years.

All but two of the Seahawks' draft picks in 2006 signed for four years last year, the exceptions being first-round pick Kelly Jennings and the second seventh-round pick, wide receiver Ben Obomanu.

Wrotto came to the Seahawks in the Darrell Jackson trade with San Francisco. He moved from defensive line to offensive line in college at Georgia Tech, and will be a guard on Seattle's offensive line.

Kent is seen as a project, but the team is high on him. A three-sport athlete at Oregon, Kent played two years of college football and never played in high school.

The Seahawks have five more picks to sign, including cornerback Josh Wilson, the team's top selection.
