FRANKFURT, Germany — Casey Bramlet threw for 347 yards and four touchdowns Saturday, leading the Hamburg Sea Devils past the Frankfurt Galaxy 37-28 in the highest-scoring World Bowl.

Bramlet, allocated by the NFL Washington franchise, was honored as the most valuable player in sending Hamburg to its first NFL Europa championship.

"This is an awesome feeling," Sea Devils coach Vince Martino said. "It felt like a heavyweight-title fight at times. We had to keep on fighting and the Galaxy kept coming back at us."

Bramlet threw scoring strikes to Marcus Maxwell (twice), Justin Jenkins and Josh Davis. Maxwell, of the San Francisco 49ers, caught five passes for 127 yards.

"We made some big plays, and once we got going we felt like we couldn't be stopped," Bramlet said.

J.T. O'Sullivan of the Chicago Bears passed for 299 yards and two touchdowns for the Galaxy before a World Bowl XV crowd of 48,125 at Commerzbank Arena.

"We didn't do a good job defensively," Galaxy coach Mike Jones said. "We couldn't get off the field, and Hamburg executed well and made a lot of plays."

Notes

• The Atlanta Falcons signed free-agent Orlando Huff to provide depth at outside linebacker and play on special teams.

Huff, 28, played for the Seahawks from 2001 to 2004.

• Miami defensive tackle Fred Evans was arrested after he wouldn't leave a South Beach taxi and fought with officers, police said. Police twice used a Taser gun on Evans, according to the arrest report, in attempts to subdue the 6-foot-4, 305-pound Evans. Officers said they asked Evans to leave the taxi and, after he refused, attempted to put him in handcuffs. He allegedly resisted.

Evans was charged with multiple counts of battery on a law-enforcement officer and resisting with violence, along with single counts of disorderly intoxication and trespassing. One officer was allegedly bitten on the wrist and a female officer had scrapes on her left knee, police said.

Of Evans' arrest, Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said, "We will not condone this type of behavior. I assure everyone it will be dealt with seriously."
