MINNEAPOLIS — Kevin Garnett in green? No. But speculation persists that Garnett might not play in Minnesota Timberwolves blue next season, either.
Vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale continued to say he's listening to offers but hasn't heard a winner yet. But you can strike Boston off the list of Garnett destinations.
Andy Miller, Garnett's agent, told ESPN on Thursday that Garnett had no interest in playing for Boston. While Garnett does not have a no-trade clause in his contract, he has the right to opt out of his contract after the 2007-08 season, a weapon he could use to guide trade talks.
"The Boston trade isn't happening," Miller told ESPN. "If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing."
Notes
• Susan O'Malley, the first female president of an NBA team, won't renew her contract with the Wizards.
O'Malley, 45, will stay on to advise team owner Abe Pollin in his search for a replacement after her contract expires June 30. She plans to leave in December.
• The Milwaukee Bucks picked up the final option years on the contracts of center Andrew Bogut and forward Charlie Villanueva.
Bogut, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 draft, and Villanueva, the seventh pick that year, are now signed through the 2008-09 season.
