Lauren Jackson had 30 points and nine rebounds to help the Seattle Storm snap a three-game losing streak with a 90-76 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday night.

In an anticipated showdown between the WNBA’s top two scorers, Jackson scored 11 points in a pivotal second quarter and had no trouble outscoring Seimone Augustus, who finished with a season-low 13 points for the Lynx (1-9).

Jackson had seven points during a 14-0 run in the second quarter to give the Storm (3-3) a 46-32 lead. For the game, she made 12 of 15 shots from the field, including three 3-pointers.

Augustus, last year’s WNBA Rookie of the Year, entered the game as the league’s top scorer at 24.3 points per game followed by Jackson at 22.5. Augustus made only five of 17 shots from the field.

Jackson, who came within one point of her season high, missed Seattle’s 81-72 loss at Sacramento on Thursday night because of illness.

Svetlana Abrosimova led the Lynx with 15 points.

Janelle Burse had 13 points for the Storm. Burse scored eight straight points to close out the third quarter and give the Storm a 21-point lead. Sue Bird added 10 points and eight assists for Seattle.

Jackson and Minnesota’s Svetlana Abrosimova each sustained cuts when they bashed heads in the first quarter as Abrosimova attempted a reverse layup. Jackson received a cut on her chin, but returned to play shortly after the collision with a Band-Aid and a couple of stiches on her chin.

Abrosimova was cut on the right side of her head. She returned later in the first half and had the cut reopen after she made a 3-pointer, but came back again in the second half.

The Storm have beaten the Lynx six straight times.
