Oregon State offensive coordinator donates kidney to wife of offensive-line coach: Danny Langsdorf, Oregon State offensive coordinator, has donated a kidney to the wife of offensive-line coach Mike Cavanaugh.

Laurie Cavanaugh, 48, had living-donor kidney-transplant surgery Tuesday in Portland.

Langsdorf, 34, was identified as a match through tests with 18 individuals.

"When you work as closely as a coaching staff does, you develop some really deep and solid friendships — I guess you could say this is the ultimate in friendship," Mike Cavanaugh said.

Texas player charged: Texas defensive end Henry Melton, 20, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Senators, down 2-0, return home: The flag of the Ottawa Senators flies throughout Canada's capital — in front of hotels, office buildings and in car windows.

One was also spotted outside a funeral parlor, which could be an omen if things don't change tonight on the home ice of the Eastern Conference champions. Ottawa, after two road losses, is down 2-0 to Anaheim in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final.

Ottawa is eager to host the championship series for the first time in 80 years, when the city's team — which moved to St. Louis in 1934 — won the 1927 championship.

Ottawa is seeking its first Stanley Cup victory since the "new" Senators franchise started play in 1992.

Series leader Jeff Gordon qualified in sixth. Michael Waltrip, a two-time Daytona 500 winner who had missed 12 straight races, qualified in 23rd.

Hornaday wins: Ron Hornaday won the AAA Insurance 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover International Speedway. He has won two of the circuit's last three races.

Beckham sets up England's goal in draw with Brazil: David Beckham's free kick set up John Terry for the first international goal at the new Wembley stadium in London, but Diego scored in the second minute of injury time to give Brazil a 1-1 exhibition draw against England before 88,745.

Beckham, dumped from the England roster after his celebrity off the field threatened to overshadow his form on it, played on the national team for the first time since a World Cup quarterfinal loss to Portugal on July 1. He was replaced in the 77th minute Friday.
